Review by hotel critic
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Maunsel House, a charming old country house in North Newton, just a stone's throw away from Taunton. the location was perfect for a peaceful getaway, with the nearest airport, Bristol Airport, being conveniently just 50 km away. The room we stayed in was delightful, with French doors opening up to the serene orchard garden, providing a lovely view of the surrounding nature. the room itself was cozy and well-appointed, featuring a fireplace, sofa, and garden view - the perfect retreat after a day of exploring the nearby lake for fishing. the house manager, Sandra, was particularly friendly and accommodating, ensuring our stay was as comfortable as possible. We even had the pleasure of meeting Sir Ben himself, who shared fascinating stories about the history of the house. One of the highlights of our stay was the delicious breakfast served on a 5m long trestle table made from a single slab of 15th-century Tuscan Walnut. the attention to detail and the warm hospitality made our experience truly unforgettable. Overall, Maunsel House is more than just a hotel - it's a home away from home. the peaceful surroundings, historic charm, and top-notch service make it the perfect destination for a relaxing getaway. Thank you, Sir Ben, for your hospitality!
